Over 25 million views for Demarco's "Love My Life"
Dancehall singjay and Starkutt Records artiste, Demarco is swimming in unchartered waters, thanks to YouTube, as a result of his internationally acclaimed single, Love My Life.
The uplifting Dancehall single from Demarco has achieved over 25 million views to date on the Google-based video sharing website to date; one of the highest figures ever recorded by a Dancehall artiste. Love My Life, which was released just last October, attained over 14.5 million views via one YouTube channel (VapBassMusic) while the accompanying video for the track accumulated another 10.5 million views on the popular Gazaprince11 YouTube Channel.
These statistics put Demarco in a very special category as only a few, current Dancehall/Reggae acts have earned more YouTube views for any of their singles or videos. Perhaps the most notable artiste to achieve such YouTube success since the website's inception in 2006 is Grammy-winning singer, Shaggy, whose video for Angel featuring Rayvon has earned over 35 million views to date.
Other prominent artistes who've eclipsed the 20 million views plateau include fellow Grammy winners, Damian "Junior Gong" Marley with Welcome To Jamrock and Sean Paul with Temperature to name a few. Compared to Demarco, Dancehall's most in-demand superstar, Vybz Kartel, has only managed to tally half as many views as his remix of Major Lazer's hit Pon De Floor (12.5 million views).
Such a staggering number elevates Demarco to higher ground and could be a game changer within the Dancehall industry in an era when the quality and quantity of HD Dancehall & Reggae videos is at an all-time high. Love My Life is now more than just a single; it could be the ticket towards bigger things and more accolades for Demarco going forward.
